Scientists predict that by 2050, our oceans will run out of fish.
This will greatly affect our planet because every species in the ocean plays a vital role in aspects such as flood control and ocean detoxification. Natural disasters will increase. Air quality will diminish. And salmon and tuna will become a delicacy. That's right, your grandchildren might never even taste sushi.
But, it's not irreversible. We still have the opportunity to stop this by finding alternatives and reducing the strain on overfished species. That's where we come in.
Some of you may have visited our booth at the McGill Farmer’s Market this past fall and tried our Vegan Lox. A smoked salmon alternative made entirely out of carrot (gasp!).
After tons of tests, we were able to create a taste and texture that replicates that of salmon almost perfectly. We’re choosing Earth day to talk about these two new products that we will be launching in May 2019: our smoked lox, and a vegan salmon sashimi great for making vegan poke bowls or sushi.
Keep an eye out on our Instagram and Facebook to find out when we launch.
We have the power to decide what the world will look like in 2050.
